ABOUT US
Safe Steps is a specialised psychotherapeutic service for children, adolescents, and the adults who care for them. It has been established by two experienced child and adolescent psychotherapists.
At Safe Steps, we believe that behind a child’s behaviour is an attempt to communicate something that words can’t yet fully express.
Our therapeutic practice is founded upon fostering an environment of safety, curiosity, and authentic connection. By prioritising these elements, we create the conditions necessary for healing to take place naturally, allowing each child’s story to be heard and their unique journey to be supported.
At Safe Steps, we offer therapeutic support to children and adolescents aged 3 to 18, and to the adults around them: parents, foster carers, educators, and professionals. Our work is grounded in deep respect for the child’s inner world, and in the belief that relationships are the foundation of healing.

Safe Steps
“Healing isn’t about stopping the behaviour - it’s about staying in relationship while the body tells its story.”
Services We Provide
Play Therapy
Play Therapy uses play as a natural form of expression to help children explore emotions, resolve conflicts, and develop healthier ways of coping and communicating.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a structured, collaborative process that helps individuals understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to promote lasting personal growth and emotional well-being.
Co-Working
For complex or multi-layered cases, we implement a co-working model with multiple therapists and support to the adults in a childs life
Psychotherapy Workshops for Foster Carers
We explore the idea that healing begins not by trying to control or stop behaviours, but instead by listening to what the body is trying to say
